What is ElevenLabs and how do I use it?
A voice-over used to need a studio session for every change in the script. With the ElevenLabs API the narration is generated from the text, so a video or a product can change its words without a new recording

How I use ElevenLabs
- VibeCatter videos. Explainers and films are voiced through the ElevenLabs API: the script lives next to the video code, and the narration is generated from it and placed in the edit in code.
- Voice in AI products. Synthetic voices for assistants and presenters, as part of AI development.
- Video in code. The voice track goes straight into videos rendered with Remotion.
When I choose ElevenLabs and its limits
ElevenLabs fits narration, product voices and dubbing when the text changes often. For most uses the quality is close to a studio recording, and the API makes it one step of the pipeline.
A synthetic voice should be disclosed where listeners could take it for a real person, and copying someone's voice needs their consent. For one important recording, a human voice actor is still an option.
